Margaret (Maggie) Murolo is a trial attorney at Claggett, Sykes & Garza awaiting the results of the July 2024 bar exam. Maggie is a proud Husky, graduating from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Nursing in 2013. At UConn, Maggie received Dean’s List recognition, Highest Honors, was a New England Scholar, the School of Nursing Mentor Program President, and practiced club Tae Kwon Do.
She began her nursing career as a Jesuit Volunteer in San Francisco and Oakland, California at the Native American Health Center, an outpatient clinic. At the age of 23, Maggie began her own remote healthcare consulting company and began working clinically in post-acute rehabilitation at Masonicare in Wallingford, Connecticut followed by many years as a “float nurse” at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Working as a float nurse for the bulk of her career, Maggie had the opportunity to work in many different clinical areas including but not limited to Med-Surg, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Post-Partum, Interventional Radiology, Psychiatric, Respiratory, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Oncology, and Neurology. Maggie has been a member of the nursing honor society, Sigma Theta Tau, received medical-surgical certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is trauma certified through the Emergency Nurses Association, and received her Emergency Medical Technician certification from the State of Connecticut.
After more than a decade as a registered nurse, Maggie transitioned to the University of Connecticut School of Law. At UConn Law, Maggie was a UConn Outstanding Senior Women Academic Achievement Award Recipient, received CALI awards her Criminal Defense Legal Clinic and Workers’ Compensation classes, placed second alongside her teammates in the NYSBA’s Mediation Tournament, was a Champion of UConn Law’s Fall Intramural Negotiation Competition Champion, and served as the Managing Editor of the UConn Law Review.
Maggie lives in Hamden, Connecticut with her beautiful wife, Caitlin, and enjoys writing poetry, singing classic rock and showtunes, and dancing salsa.
