Plaintiff sought damages from police officers after the decedent committed suicide during a standoff with the police. The defendant filed a motion to dismiss on the ground of the doctrine of sovereign immunity. The court determined the officers were being sued in their official capacity rather than their individual capacity and the plaintiff’s claim was therefore barred by the doctrine of sovereign immunity.
