Alexa Mahony

Biography

Alexa Mahony is a partner and trial attorney at Claggett, Sykes & Garza Trial Lawyers, in Connecticut, where she fights to hold those responsible accountable and to make her injured clients whole. She has tried cases to seven-, eight-, and nine figure jury verdicts, gaining recognition for some of the largest verdicts of their kind in Connecticut history.

In 2022, Alexa was part of the trial team behind a $100 million verdict for a paralyzed man and his wife.  Alexa served as lead counsel for the wife on her loss of consortium claim, winning $10 million verdict on her behalf.  In 2024, Alexa and her partner Andrew Garza secured another record setting $9 million premises liability verdict in Middletown.  In a slip and fall case in Hartford Superior Court, Alexa broke a streak of thirty-two consecutive defense verdicts with a plaintiff’s win.

Alexa speaks nationally to plaintiff’s trial lawyers, provides trial skills training, and enjoys consulting and co-trying high-exposure cases, where her specialized training in focus groups and Big Data shines.

Her work has earned her recognition as a New Leader in the Law (New England Legal Awards, 2023) as a Rising Star (Super Lawyers, 2020 – Present), and selection to Best Lawyers (2026-2027).

Alexa lives in Prospect with her husband Brendon, their two kids, and crazy dog. Alexa is a coffee fanatic, loves a good book, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
